Descripción
Sumario:People deprived of liberty, regardless of the crimes committed, live with the most varied forms of deprivation of rights. This situation can worsen when dealing with elderly women. Faced with this issue, the article in question aims to analyze the particularities surrounding the imprisonment of elderly women, in order to highlight the need for integrated long-term care for elderly people deprived of their liberty in Brazil. We opted for a systematic bibliographical research, with a qualitative focus. Data collection was carried out by mapping scientific articles published between 2019 and 2024, totaling 7 articles. Elderly women experience a scenario of triple prejudice because they are women, elderly and incarcerated. They face challenges such as overcrowding, gender discrimination/violence, generational conflicts, low representation, lack of access to healthcare - especially in relation to women's specific pathologies -, family abandonment and lack of state protection.
