Descripción
Sumario:The work aims to analyze the importance of cooperative governance to remain sustainable in times of crisis. To this end, a qualitative research was conducted in the format of a structured interview with approaches related to governance, cooperatives, sustainability and the peanut chain. Studies show that agricultural cooperatives are efficient and achieve successful integration into the economy. Success in these economies is attributed to good governance and institutional characteristics, including efficiency, capital structure and size. Agricultural cooperatives have unique characteristics, such as reducing poverty, improving food security and generating employment opportunities, and have the flexibility to meet a wide variety of human social and economic needs. The work presents current concerns relevant to the peanut production chain, from the producer to the agribusiness, associated with sustainability, economic crisis due to the global pandemic and the stability of the producer for decision making, according to the interviewee's point of view.
