| Sumario: | Psychosocial rehabilitation is a community based practice, common at psychosocial care centers, such as the Centro de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS). Therapeutic workshops aim at developing technical skills and relational abilities, while promoting socialization, autonomy and protagonism. Photography is an important resource. Along with its technological advances, it has been impacting the subjectivity process. This article aims at describe and discuss the creation, development and impact of a photography workshop at a psychosocial care center at Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. This is an experience report of conducting the workshop, composed of 12 sessions of 1.5 hours each. There were two to six users in each group. The workshop helped users to find out new interests, contributing to social inclusion. It was a safe place to practice respect, interaction and citizenship. The users were able to occupy public spaces, circulating in the city and being exposed to real life situations — the ideal setting to practice social skills. The photography workshop was an important resource to be in the territory and to develop the feeling of belonging — both important steps in the rehabilitation process. |
