| Sumario: | The purpose of this paper is to present a synthesis of the history of cases that were used and analyzed by the Inter-American Court (IACHR), in which Brazil was not a passive pole. An explanation and individual analysis of the cases makes it possible to demonstrate the peculiarities of the themes, or the development of the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court, as well as the performance of the Brazilian State or the processing of cases in the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights (ISPHR). It is, therefore, the first step towards understanding the situation in Brazil in the context of this specific international court, in the Inter-American Court. A methodology used for the present study consisted of conducting documentary research, based on books, court judgments, reports, reports, articles, magazines and specialized websites. Furthermore, through a qualitative approach, relevant data were collected for Brazil's international responsibility before the Inter-American Court. The analysis of the cases contained points to a need to strengthen the ISPHR and, at the same time, demonstrates the potential for positive impacts in the brazilian context, such as, for example, the promotion of public policies. |
