Descripción
Sumario:The literacy process of children still presents itself as a challenge in the current educational field and augmented reality technology can be used as an ally of teachers in their pedagogical practices aimed at literacy. This work aimed to develop the augmented reality application Alfabetiz-AR to aid in the recognition of letters in the process of children’s literacy. This is an exploratory research in the form of a case study, adopting a qualitativequantitative approach, performing as main activities the literature review, field research, data analysis, and using, mainly, the Unity tools and Blender for application development. The study made it possible to verify the potential of the augmented reality applicationto assist in the literacy process from the teachers’ point of view in the initial grades of elementary school, as well as to identify some weaknesses that need to be resolved. Despite the identification of the potential of Augmented Reality in literacy, the research showed in general how the use of educational technologies is still a challenging issue and also pointed out some directions for future work.
