Yield of tomato according to nitrogen fertilization
Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of N doses on yield and quality of tomato fruits in a notill system. The research was carried out at field conditions in Epagri - Experimental Station of Caçador, SC, Brazil, during the growing seasons 2006/07 and 2007/08. The treat...

| Sumario: | Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of N doses on yield and quality of tomato fruits in a notill system. The research was carried out at field conditions in Epagri - Experimental Station of Caçador, SC, Brazil, during the growing seasons 2006/07 and 2007/08. The treatments were set in a CRB design, with four replications. Treatments were six doses of N, as ammonium nitrate, being 0, 125, 250, 375, 500 and 625 kg ha-1 in 2006/07 and for 2007/08 to 0, 150, 300, 450, 600 e 750 kg ha-1 in 2007/08. The total, commercial, extra AA and extra A, tomato yields followed a quadratic model in response to N rates in the 2006/07 crop. However in 2007/08 there was a linear effect. The maximum technical efficiency (MTE) and maximum economic efficiency (MEE) for commercial fruit yield in 2006/07 crop were obtained with N rates of 555 and 546 kg ha-1. For the average mass of extra AA fruits; commercial fruit production in relation to total production and; production of extra AA fruits in relation to commercial production in 2006/07 crop, there was a quadratic fit with increased levels of N applied, and their maximum points with 478, 486 and 557 kg ha-1 N, respectively, that is, next to the doses of MTE and MEE for commercial fruit yield. |
