| Sumario: | The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the profile and perception of body communication in a group of individuals of both genders, aged 16 to 75 years, practicing ballroom dance in a dance school in Recife. This is a descriptive study. The studied population comprised 80 individuals taking duo-dance classes. A sample size of 30 individuals was selected. For data collection, a questionnaire was delivered, including 15 questions about the individuals' profile and body communication. The collected data was handled by a descriptive statistical process. The results enabled the drawing of a profile of the studied group and demonstrated increased body awareness and communication as a result of duo-dancing. This has characterized how much ballroom dancing motivates and influences social habits and one's perceptions of the world. |
