Description
Summary:In January of 2010, during the 5th ILGA-LAC Regional Conference in the city of Curitiba, it was released the “Manual de Comunicação LGBT” (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites and transexuals), elaborated to professionals, students and professors of the Communication area. The manual has the aim to reduce the inappropriate use of terms that attack LGBT’s citizenship and dignity in Brazil. The present paper makes a critical review about the importance of communication in the social movement, especially in a moment when the media shows up LGBT themes in its program schedule, making itself a place of diversity, not unity.
