| Sumario: | This article discusses the relationship between education, sexual diversity and the fight against oppressions from the singular expression of the LGBT Movement in Vitória da Conquista/Bahia. The text presents results from a research that sought to demonstrate the political and educational character of the organization of LGBT people in relation to sexual diversity and the fight against social and legal discrimination. For this, we analyze the historical trajectory of the movement from the late 1990s to the 2000s, taking as our empirical approach the Pride Parades and the organization of LGBT collectives in Vitória da Conquista. We conclude by highlighting the importance of the discussions fostered and disseminated by the movement in the planning of its activities, which were points of support in combating oppression to this population. We also highlight the contribution of these actions and discussions for the visibility of human diversities and singularities about issues related to gender and sexuality. |
