Sumario:The study aims to understand the challenges and opportunities in building the relationship between franchisor and franchisee. It was analyzed how this relationship can influence the success or failure of the organization. It was studied about the concept of franchising, the evolution of this business model and its forms of management. The present research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach that used as a technique: the case study, the bibliographical research and documental procedure. Forms were applied to better understand the phenomena that occur between the parts of this relationship. The case study was carried out at the Poderoso Timão franchise stores. As a result, the critical factors existing in this relationship between franchisee and franchisor, which can compromise the success of the business, were identified.
