Sumario:São Paulo has been filmed since more than a century, and this article proposes a synthesis of several points concerning the history of relations between the city and films. We have particularly worked on problems of the representation of the city, including various aspects, from human to physical landscape. Towards the composition of that large panorama we had to synthesize current formulations, trying to review the author's research, mentioned in footnotes whenever is possible. Taking São Paulo filmed by historical periods on little synchronical panoramas, in diachronical considerations or purposes, we try to figure out transformations, permanency, ruptures and traditions.
