As an action proposal to combat several orders of violence – like the physical and the symbolical ones – against this segment, those women from Fortaleza decided to create the group LANCE (Lésbicas Atuantes no Ceará), which would become LAMCE (Liberdade do Amor entre Mulheres no Ceará). This article aims at analyzing the genesis, the trajectory and the main challenges of the group, which completes ten years of existence in 2015.

This article aims at analyzing the genesis, the trajectory and the main challenges of the group, which completes ten years of existence in 2015.Em abril de 2004, um grupo de mulheres de Fortaleza reuniu-se para discutir formas de enfrentamento da discriminação sofrida não somente pelas mulheres, de uma maneira em geral, em seu cotidiano, mas, especificamente, por um segmento, tradicionalmente invisibilizado na sociedade, de mulheres bissexuais e lésbicas. Como proposta de ação contra as violências praticadas de diversas ordens, tanto físicas como simbólicas, essas mulheres decidiram criar um grupo, inicialmente, intitulado LANCE –, Lésbicas Atuantes No Ceará. Contudo, como algumas não se consideravam lésbicas, pois mantinham também relações heteroafetivas e heterossexuais, após uma série de ponderações, em debate, foi aprovado o nome LAMCE (com M), Liberdade do Amor entre Mulheres no Ceará.
