Descripción
Sumario:This article consists of a reflection on magazine journalism and its relation to the formation of a social ethos nowadays. Based on the assumption that the discourse of specialized journalism has its own peculiarities, we ask, more specifically, about the mediations that derive from the relationship between journalism and society, at a moment when the issues of quality of life and welfare (social and individual) emerge in the thematic spheres of the media world. The debates that guide our work are based on theoretical propositions on: 1) the debate on the nature of journalism, 2) mediation as a communicative act and its singularities when processed in the relationship between the media and social life, 3) the formation of an ethos in society, 4) the changes that emerged with modernity and the collective and individual consequences of such process, 5) the role of journalism in the construction of culture in contemporary society.
