Descripción
Sumario:This article analyzes the funding capacity of basic education in the municipalities of Tocantins, measured using the indicator of Potential Revenue for Basic Education per student-month (RPEB per student-month). The research is descriptive in nature, with a quantitative approach, using secondary data related to the 139 municipalities of Tocantins, with a temporal cut-off in the year 2019. The results of the descriptive analysis suggest that there are different levels of investment capacity in education in the municipal networks of Tocantins. The bivariate analysis showed no significant correlations between the context variables and teaching supply conditions and the RPEB per student-month. The results do not indicate where the data are concentrated that produce the different levels of capacity among the municipal networks analyzed, requiring more in-depth studies to understand how and why funding capacity inequalities occur.
