| Sumario: | This dissertation deals with the study of the Acervos Complementares (Complementary Collections) published by MEC in 2009, which focus on the field of Geography. This collection consists of literary worksdistributed to all public schools, and are aimed at the CYCLE I, of Fundamental Education. These are worksintended to provide support to teachers in their teaching activity. We will analyze literary works directedto geographical knowledge, specifically related to housing and urban mobility. We will also concentrate onthe Curriculum Guidelines, published by the Department of Education of the City of São Paulo, withmethodological guidelines and learning expectations related to CYCLE I, especially Geography. We alsohighlight, the authors who discuss the teaching of geography, especially those who provide comments oneducation in the early years of primary education, with emphasis on the discussion of the concept ofplace. The works are aimed at children in the literacy process, who begin to have contact with thelanguage mechanisms which have to do with the acquisition of writing and reading skills. With the readingof the works, we will follow the way certain contents relating to Geography are represented in the worksschosen as corpus of this work and which can contribute to the acquisition of fundamental knowledge forgeographic literacy |
