Descripción
Sumario:This article will discuss the definitions of "public" and "public problem" developed by one lineage of the French pragmatic sociology: The Sociology of Public Problems. These conceptions correspond to the object and to the epistemic approach of this reserchers. The formulation of the concept "public problem" will be analyzed, as well as the connections between him and others central notions, like "public", "publicity", "problematization" and "experience". The article emphasizes that the Sociology of Public Problems, adopted by French authors from the 1990s, introduces the question of the "public" as problematic, but also as an empirical object to be studied. making an articulation between the American pragmatist philosophy and the schools of thought in which the techniques of empirical research are central.
