Sumario:The Covid-19 pandemic intensified the circulation of narratives with dissonant information to support the defense of positions. In Brazil, this phenomenon has reached journalistic vehicles, by questioning reported information, extending the discredit to journalists. This article proposes to reflect on the displacement of these professionals from the status of news reporters of the pandemic to that of news, under the gaze of distrust. Two themes are central to the discussion: the expansion of the disinformation ecosystem, in a reverse scenario of hyperinformation; and the epistemology of journalism, with its normative discourses and practices. The data for the analytical exercise were collected from two Brazilian verification agencies in the period of January from 2020 to June 2021.
