Sumario:Our work aims to conduct an overview on the situation of Itamaracá, on the northern coast of Pernambuco, in relation to its main strong points during the colonial period. In this sense, we seek to develop a bibliographic and documentary about aspects related to space militarization of the island, looking for it, the two main strongholds of the place: Fort Orange and blockhouse of Catuama.
