| Sumario: | This study examines the determinantsof child labor in families Tocantins frommultinomial logistic econometric model. The results draw the profile of families whoenter their children / teens in the labor market, serving as a yardstick of public policies to combat child labor. It started from the assumption that the decision to allocate the time the child / adolescent is between studying and working in the family, and that the options of choice are: to study and work, not study and work, studyingand not working, and finally not study nor work. After application of the model was noted that individual variables such as age and years of study play important roles for some choices, and is also affected by the type of family. Finally, it was found that the variable of the area (urban and rural) showed significance for the choice of just studying and studying and working |
