Descrição
Resumo:This paper analyzes the novel Cinzas do norte (2005), by Milton Hatoum, investigating how regionalism is presented in the work through the opposing views of art of the characters Mundo and Arana. The paper also examines the relationship of the characters Mundo and Alicia with their space of origin, analyzing the representation of migration and identity discourses. It is concluded that the work dialogues with themes and images from the regionalist tradition and contributes to the transfigurations that regionalism has been undergoing in recent decades.
