Sumario:This paper establishes understanding epistemic practices and movements structured during science classes in elementary school using the conversation circles as a teaching strategy, based on the perspective discursive interactions. The data were collected by discussing Darwin's life and ideas in three conversation circles with two seventh-grade classrooms. We analyze and categorize epistemic movements and practices to identify the discursive interactions during the episodes. The results point to a dialogical communicative approach. The epistemic practices which stand out are associated with instances (producing relationships and mismatching theory and evidence, respectively).
