| Sumario: | This paper studies indexing policies for the context of teaching in Library Science. It aims to bridge the dynamics of planning and constitution of this policy, in the context of school libraries, to the teaching of Indexing and Abstracts in Library Science. It is a descriptive study that follows a qualitative approach to the methodology and a case study, as it is focuses on the reality of the academic scenario of the undergraduate program in Library Science of the Universidade Federal de Goiás, weaving interpretations from this case. The study was based on a comparative documentary research, based on the guides of the practical activities and the indexing policy created the course. The results show an important connection between these two aspects in the case studied, as the theoretical background related to the elements in the policy was considered and put into practice. We conclude that with the development of this policy, it is always valuable to consider the characteristics of the information unit to create an indexing policy that is consistent with its reality, best adapting it to the needs of the products of the subject indexation, in addition to understand the relevance of these practices for the information organization. |
