| Sumario: | T the essay aims to present on the potential of tactile maps in the teaching of Geography for people with visual impairments and the possibilities of extrapolating tactile cartography beyond the classroom. In the last 30 years we have witnessed the expansion of the use of tactile maps for orientation and mobility, in public and private spaces. These maps are valuable resources, but their good use depends on how cartography is worked on at school and, in this process, teacher training is fundamental. Based on a literature review, the article approaches the main concepts of tactile cartography and how these have been inserted, directly or indirectly, in the graduation courses in Geography and today are part of elementary school textbooks and of proposals for training itineraries in high school. |
