Sumario:The constant technological advance imposed by the industry is present in society and permeate several sectors, such as health, bringing many benefits with more efficient treatments and less aggressive for humanity, however, brings with it the problem of electronic waste, which many times is difficult to dispose of properly and properly. The purpose of this study was to investigate the practices adopted for the disposal of electronic waste in front of the six (6) Hospitals and 03 (three) Federal Public Health Institutes of Rio de Janeiro in relation to the legal provisions applied to management, these being the National Policy of Solid Waste (Law No. 12.305 / 2010), Decree no. 9.373 / 2018 and the Environmental Public Administration Agenda (A3P), aiming also to identify limitations, opportunities and challenges to be faced in the management of this type of waste. The research has a descriptive nature with a qualitative approach, being fundamentally interpretative. For the data collection, nine (9) interviews were conducted with the managers responsible for the equity sector of the institutions. The data were analyzed using the content analysis technique with Atlas TI software and Microsoft Excel software to tabulate the quantitative data. As a result, the study provides an overview of the management of these federal public health institutions, demonstrating that there is still a great deal of difficulty in the elimination of this type of waste, attributed, among other causes, to a lack of knowledge and bureaucracy resulting from legislation. implementation of a reverse logistics system that will systematically enable the disintegration of the electro-electronic waste produced by them.
