Sumario:This article aimed to articulate various elements that make up the current scenario of the rise of the far-right in Brazil and the expansion of a violent sociability, which impact different dimensions of daily life and have in basic and higher education a form of its diffusion. The analysis of contemporary violent sociability, as well as of the process of growth of authoritarianism in education, highlights the actions of civic-military schools and government interventions in federal universitiesas a process of ideological consolidation aimed at maintaining the status quo and the generalization of the culture of fear and authoritarianism, which are marks of Brazilian particularity and remnants of the authoritarian rubble of the Brazilian corporate-military dictatorship. This reality demands reaction and counter-hegemonic construction by the organized movement, with the horizon of new social relations
