Sumario:Land regularization, as a legal tool that aims to guarantee the right to housing adequately, has gone through several important milestones, starting with the Federal Constitution of 1988 (CF/88). Thus, several improvements were introduced in several Laws as legal tools for land legalization in Brazil. This research aims to analyse the right to housing and land legalization, more precisely, it is an assessment on the applicability of the Law number 13.465/2017 (REURB) an the current legal discussions on the right to housing considering the Direct Unconstitutionality Proceedings numbers 5,787, 5,771 and 5,883. As such, throughout this work we can highlight that the new legislation is able protect and guarantee a wider access to proper housing. The methodology used in this study is bibliographical research along with data analysis and normative frameworks.
