The autor also follows Jacques Lacan's theory on the logics of substitution of "significants" and the constitution of the Name-of-the-Father ali over this paper. He also explains the activities of the Inquisition as a trial to cease Cryptojudaism both as a social (political and economic) and religious phenomenon.

Com base na leitura de Freud sobre a religião, tenta o autor explicar o criptojudaismo como persistência da estrutura do desejo ao modo da religião do pai que se opõe à daquela da religião do filho, a cristã. A lógica da substituição significante que implica a metáfora paterna, segundo Lacan, permeia todo o encadeamento das ideias do autor.
