Sumario:Luke presents Jesus as himself being the expression of the Father's mercy. It is in his way of acting that his merciful attitude towards people, especially those most in need and marginalized, can be seen. Jesus is the Savior who brings salvation, freeing people from everything that prevents them from living a dignified life. Mercy and compassion are proper attitudes to be cultivated in current times. The Church which goes forth, as Pope Francis asks, with shepherds who can smell the sheep, is a merciful and compassionate Church, capable of going in search of the lost and marginalized sheep.
