| Resumo: | The article seeks to reflect on the future of the new Fundeb and the prospects for financing basic education, which in addition to being a right, education is also an investment. For this reason, the Constitution establishes, as an indispensable condition, the availability of financial resources necessary for each institutions of the federation to offer it with quality. With a focus on the current discussion of the new Fundeb, the result of this process that took place in the two legislative houses (Chamber and Senate), based on more than three years of public debate, will be addressed, is the promulgation of Constitutional Amendment nº 108/2020 and, consequently, the consolidation of Fundeb as a permanent policy, inscribed in the Federal Constitution with an improved design. |
