| Sumario: | Analyzes the potentiality of the use of Facebook by Brazilian journals of librarianship and information science as a mechanism for disclosure and popularization. Highlights the importance of scientific journals in the development of research and the importance of social networks in the process of dissemination of information and interaction and information sharing using the bibliographical research methodology. As a sample, identified the main Brazilian journals in the area of librarianship and information science in the Qualis portal journals, High Level Personal Improvement Coordination, and after investigation in the search mechanism of the social network Facebook, points out that only two journals of this area of knowledge use this social network as a means of popularization of its services. Concludes that the scientific journals have in hands an important tool for the dissemination of their works, but still use it timidly. |
