Sumario:Older adults living in long-term care facilities are impacted by the loss of personal property and the disruption of social ties, following the rules necessary for coexistence. This article reports procedures implemented to stimulate affective ties among older residents of The São Vicente de Paulo Asylum, in Imbituva-PR. It demonstrates initiatives that encourage social interaction and the formation of new bonds, resulting in greater well-being in the context of the long-term care facilities.
