Resumo:Socila was a school of etiquette, manequins and preparation for miss candidates, founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1954. It was successful teaching good manners to girls in the 1950s to 1970s. The founder, Maria Augusta Nielsen, be in the press to these days as synonymous of elegance. Based on biographical illusion by Bourdieu ([1986] 2006), façade (GOFFMAN, [1959] 2014) and mediation, project and area of possibilities (VELHO, 2013), this article seeks to outline a biographical study of the master of elegance.
