| Sumario: | Here we review the available information about the archaeological sites located in the Macapá city, on the amazon coastal plain of Amapá state, Brazil. We have focused on the archaeological contexts described in previews research as “camps” or “shallow” sites, highlighted due the scarcity of archaeological traces and its small size, in addition to other similarities in archaeological record and collections. The exam of ceramics from 7 archaeological sites and its contextual data suggests that these were spaces occupied seasonally, but also some particularities between them. Furthermore, considering the existence of large ceramic sites at the same region, as ancient cemeteries and villages, we propose that both, seasonal and the large sites were part of the same occupation system. |
