Quantitative and cross-sectional study performed in hospitalized cardiac patients. The assessment was performed by means of weight and height measurements and by the NRS 2002, calculations for energy need were described by Harris-Benedict and compared the recommendations of ASPEN, ESPEN, Aquilani and Garnes. Fifty-one patients were evaluated, following the mean age, BMI of overweight and most without nutritional risk. The calculated recommendations were among those described in the literature. The nutritional profile of patients with heart disease is altered, being recommended from 25 to 30 kcal / day due to low food intake.
