Summary:Introduction: The healthy diet is necessary for the promotion of health and prevention of chronic diseases. This should be adequate quantitatively and qualitatively. In order to identify food intake and evaluate it in relation to the recommendations, it is necessary a detailed dietary assessment, taking into account variability, as the weekend. Aim: Knowing, analyzing and comparing food consumption changes of patients throughout the weekend in a clinic of nutrition. Materials and Methods: Descriptive study, cross-sectional with primary data collection from 19 adult patients of a clinic of nutrition in the southern zone of São Paulo, by signing the TCLE. The following data was used: age, weight, height, level of physical activity per week, in addition to the 24-hours recall of a habitual week day and full weekend. Results: The habitual food intake in a study was normoglycidic, hyperproteic and normolipidic and the weekend was hypoglycidic, hyperproteic and hyperlipidic. Regarding the VCT, over the weekend there was an increase of 25.6% of calories (359, 07 kcal). Other studies showed similar food consumption results. Now with regard to the VCT biggest difference on weekends, other studies have also this difference, but not considered significant. Conclusion: This result may be related to cultural and social aspects that combine leisure to food over the weekend. Through this you can find alternatives that result in quantitative and qualitative improvements, contributing to healthand quality of life.
