Resumo:The governments, from development policies seek to increase the welfare of the population. Among several objectives, combating income inequality is a priority. This article aims to analyze the contribution of different portions of household income per capita in the state of Ceará, between 2004 and 2012, to identify which were the ones that contributed most to the reduction of inequality in recent years. The results showed that there was a reduction in income inequality in the State from 0.5708 in 2004 to 0.5203 in 2012. The analysis of inequality also allows to concludes that the concentration-effect is predominant, in other words, a decrease in concentration of each share of income was the main factor for the reduction of inequality.
