In methodological terms, a theorical-conceptual review and field trips were made (with photographic records and formulary applications). It is argued that through the construction of the Hydroelectric plant, significant changes happened in the urban dinamic, revealed in the requalification of the city port (its waterfront), consolidation and modernization of the services and business main area and the surge of new settlement spaces in the city’s countryside, mainly the road axis.El objetivo central del trabajo es analizar las principales transformaciones espaciales ocurridas en la relación de la ciudad con el río, en Vitória del Xingú, en el estado de Pará, en la face de instalación de la central Hidroeléctrica de Belo Monte y su inserción en la frontera energética impuesta a la Amazonia. En términos metodológicos, fue realizado la revisión teórico- conceptual y el trabajo de campo (con registros fotográficos, producción de mapas y aplicación de formularios). Argumentando que através de la construcción de la hidroeléctrica hubo cambios significativos en la dinámica urbana, reveladas en la recalificación del puerto de la ciudad (su frente fluvial) en la densificación y modernización del área principal del comercio, servicios y en el surgimiento de nuevos espacios de asentamientos en el interior de la ciudad, principalmente, en el eje vial.O objetivo central do trabalho é analisar as principais transformações espaciais ocorridas na relação da cidade com o rio, em Vitória do Xingu, no estado do Pará, em face da instalação da Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte e sua inserção na fronteira energética imposta à Amazônia. Em termos metodológicos, foi feita a revisão teórico-conceitual e o trabalho de campo (com registros fotográficos, produção de mapas e aplicação de formulários).
