This research was conduct with three teachers of the initial years of Elementary Education. It was organized in three parts, the discussion of a problem situation; the development of the problem situation in the classroom; and clarification of the perceptions about the lived experience. The final considerations point out that the pedagogical practice adopted allowed socio-emotional learning and the habilitation and stimulation of executive functions, such as inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility and working memory.O presente estudo busca analisar a vivência de uma situação-problema em aulas de Matemática nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública da cidade de São Paulo, atrelada às competências socioemocionais e à resolução de problemas, que contou com a participação de três professores que ensinam Matemática nessa etapa escolar. A pesquisa foi organizada em três partes: a discussão de uma situação-problema, o seu desenvolvimento em sala de aula, e explicitação das percepções sobre a experiência vivida.
