Sumario:The choice of a hub airport by an airline ensures a number of benefits related to the movement of passengers, which implies the needs for detailed studies on demand, geographical location and airport infrastructure available to accommodate the new model of flight operations. In this sense, this article aims to analyze the main characteristics for an airport to establish as a hub, assessing the importance that one criterium has over another, as a factor of system installation, in the view of specialists. The research methodology is based on the use of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the weight of components for an airport hub. Results characterize the main criteria and determine the most relevant ones for the evaluation of the potential of a given airport to receive hub operations.
