Descripción
Sumario:In Brazil there is a large population of dogs at risk of developing pyometra since elective castration is not a common practice. Pyometra is adult bitch disease characterized by inflammation of the uterus with accumulation of exudate. This is one of the most common diseases that occur in the genital tract of female dogs. The most frequently isolated bacteria in the uterus of bitches with pyometra is Escherichia coli. The aim of this study is to compare the pyometra group opened and closed cervix characterizing the isolated bacteria into the uterus of these bitches, and perform the resistance profile of bacteria to antibiotics such forward most commonly used in veterinary medicine for small animals.
