Summary:The objective is to understand the perceptions of teachers in the early years, in Fortaleza-CE, about education in context. This is a qualitative research, of the case study type, with a semi-structured interview with seven teachers from a municipal public school, with data examined in the light of content analysis. The results showed that continuing education is offered from a critical and reflective perspective, but that teachers do not build this education collectively. Furthermore, educational topics are not defined by teachers and pedagogical coordinators, but by the Department of Education.
