| Sumario: | Introduction: HAIs are infections associated with or acquired on admission to a hospital, they are unexpected because they develop during the course of health treatment; causing illness and death in patients. Objective: To describe the role of the nursing staff in the prevention of infections associated with health care. Methods: A qualitative systematic review of 20 high-impact studies was conducted. Results: Due to the increasing complexity of healthcare treatments and interventions, patients are increasingly susceptible to healthcare-associated infections and resistant organisms. This article describes some of the challenges that nursing staff may experience in ensuring effective infection prevention and control, and how they can be addressed in order to avoid or reduce the risk of infection. Conclusions: Due to the increasing complexity of health treatments and interventions, patients are increasingly susceptible to contracting health care-associated infections and resistant organisms, the promotion of preventive actions against IASS is an important challenge for the health service. health and especially for nursing. |
