Descrição
Resumo:In the poetic diction by Marianne Moore (1887-1972), the conflicting nature of the human condition finds space for exaltation, celebration and audacious withdrawal that serves as a subterfuge, becoming "centers of life". In its verses, human dramas unfold between metaphors and symbolic connotations through a ciphered and ruthlessly revealing language. Thus: life and death, materiality and artificiality, anthropomorphization and de-anthropomorphization always resort to unique ways — through the inquiring receptacles of an intense lyrical self. Thus, the rapture of Moore's writing captivates by the sensitive and nubile way of detailing the world; fundamental and modern aspect in English language poetry that requires revision. To this end, the bibliographic-documental methodology consolidates this research through contextual readings of poems representative of this American poet, which shows, above all, that the contradictions in their essence reveal possible and humanizing meanings. For the development of the research, analyzes about the application of the poetic element that established the contradictory through figures of speech in the poetry of Marianne Moore mediated with the theoretical and methodological contribution of PAZ (2014; 2015), BOSI (1990), BRASILEIRO ( 2012), BIRMAN (2013), FREUD (2010), HEIDEGGER (2003) and PESSOA (1997), in order to show expanded reflections of the human condition, through the experiences of reading chosen poems.
