Descrição
Resumo:The objective was to verify the influence of a program of aquatic physiotherapy on functional mobility in the older people. This is an almost experimental, before-and-after study of 26 older people volunteers. There was a significant improvement in the dynamic balance, measured by the TUG test, when the pre-moments of 12.04 (9.58-20.79) seconds were compared to 9.58 (7.02-17.86) seconds (p = 0.04). It is concluded that the aquatic physiotherapy program promoted improvement of the dynamic balance in the older people involved in this study. Keywords: Hydrotherapy; Postural balance; Aged.
