Sumario:Associating the ideology of Brazilian political parties with the ideological spectrums of the left, center or right can be considered something simple or a more complex task if we consider the broad framework of parties and the existing classification methods. Which gives in some cases identification discrepancies. In this context, this article discusses the stability and volatility of ideological classifications, assessing the extent to which party ideology can be considered static. For such an approach, it makes use of a qualitative study that analyzes some of the main existing classificatory studies, highlighting that some ideological definitions are relatively “fragile” or merely temporary in the long term. In addition, it was observed that there is bidirectional mobility of several subtitles, although they do not move until they reach a completely inverse pole.
