Description
Summary:Researchers working within the AMPER project have carried out surveys of some intonation patterns of the islands and regions bordering the Tyrrhenian (and Ligurian) Sea. The analysed dialects provide us a sufficient framework to start drawing an approximate picture of the geoprosodic variation in this discontinuous space. Using data from AMPER-ITA (and AMPER-FRA) which are included in a more extensive research in progress, we propose a correlation study (applied to the dialects of Corte, Nice, Genoa, Elba, Pisa, Prato, Lucca, Nuoro, Salerno and Palermo) aiming at a dialectometric comparison (GOEBL, 1983) and with phylogenetic-like clustering techniques à la Dunn (BAAYEN, 2008).
