Resumo:The objective of this article is to analyse the intonational aspects of declarative and interrogative utterances ending in proparoxytone, paroxytone and oxytone words as produced by a speaker from Santos, a coastal city in the state of São Paulo. This project is part of the AMPER-POR project which  aims at describing intonational patterns in varieties of the Portuguese language. The results of this analysis indicate that the fundamental frequency (f0) contour and  the alignment of the f0 peak in the  stressed vowels of utterance final words  in declarative and interrogative modalities differ.
