Resumo:This article analyzes, from the bibliographical and documentary research method, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the Statute of Persons with Disabilities, from the perspective of the existence of barriers and the need to guarantee accessibility for persons with disabilities, mainly intellectual disabilities, can enjoy and exercise rights inherent to their citizenship. It is pointed out that it is up to the Public Power to structure its bodies so that everyone can participate in the suffrage under equal conditions.
