Sumario:This study aimed to unravel the perception of the academic community of the Universidade do Estado do Amazonas - UEA, regarding access for people with disabilities (PwD), by identifying the variables that influence the accessibility conditions for PwDs and describing the accessibility characteristics perceived by the community at the UEA. To carry out the research, the following methods were used: as a tool for data collection, we used a questionnaire with a semi-structured question on a Likert rating scale; for data analysis: descriptive statistics to characterize the respondents; in the second stage, Cronbach's Alpha and Multiple Linear Regression were mainly used. The results revealed that UEA’s accessibility score is influenced by the respondents’ perception of human resources and campus infrastructure, but not by their knowledge and familiarity with the topic, nor by their satisfaction with accessibility promotion actions. In addition, age, education, gender and the fact of being a person with a disability do not affect the institution’s accessibility score. As for the answer to the research problem, it was possible to identify and analyze that compliance with accessibility laws at the moment is partial, given that only part of the needs is already met, lacking only adjustments in the existing structure at the UEA.
