Lasar Segall and the critique of his work in the context of modernity
In the four decades during which Lasar Segal lived and worked in Brazil a colaboration between him and his critics was established which divulged an image of him based on Romantic features. In this paper we try to understand such a construction as an answer to Brazil's entry into modernity
